Director

What does a director do? Directors are the creative leads of the film.

They hold the creative vision throughout the whole process, from pre-production through to the final edit.

Sound/Boom Operator

A key member of the production audio crew in the film and television industries, the boom operator assists the production sound mixer on set by operating boom microphones, selecting and placing radio microphones, and maintaining the audio equipment.

Production Assistant

A Production Assistant, or Production Crew Assistant, serves on film, television or theater sets assisting the Producers and Directors of a production. Their main duties include printing and distributing scripts, relaying messages between crew members and running errands for Directors and Producers.

Script Supervisor

The script supervisor is in charge of keeping the most up-to-date version of the script, so that if a department head comes up to you with script questions, you'll be able to give them the answer that maintains continuity. 

Best Boy/Girl/Equip Manager

Best Boy/Girl is a senior electrician on a film crew, coming second in the hierarchy to the "gaffer", the chief electrician. The electricians are responsible for the technical side of the lighting and are known as the "sparks" in this country or "juicers" in the US.

Editor

TrueGaines Productions editors put together raw footage captured on set and turn it into a sequence to best portray the director's vision. Editors are responsible for selecting, cutting and putting together video footage and turning it into a cohesive sequence that tells the story as the director intended. Media editor provides all aspects of editing for content including editing of video effects, soundtrack editing and mixing.
